Do we have a separate Children's Church during the Worship Service?

Here at Amelia Baptist Church we have grown accustomed to the presence of children in the worship service, and we have found that those children who attend grow accustomed to being a part of the worship experience.

Let me begin by saying that Amelia Baptist Church does have childcare for children ages 4 and younger during the Sunday morning worship service. We also provide Sunday school at 9 am for children of all ages.

However, we do not offer separate Student Worship or Children’s Church during our Sunday morning worship service because when families attend worship together, they share the worship experience together. We believe that as children see their parents participating in worship, they gain a sense of its value and importance.  Worshiping together also gives parents the opportunity to clarify and discuss the biblical truths presented in more detail at home throughout the week, assisting parents to fulfill the biblical mandate to transfer the teachings of God's Word to their children (Deut. 6:1-8).

As a congregation we know that if a child becomes disruptive, Mom and/or Dad have the option to leave the sanctuary at any time with their child.  Amelia Baptist Church provides rooms equipped with speakers so parents can still hear the service until they decide to return to the sanctuary.

Amelia Baptist Church is thankful for parents who desire to make it a priority to bring their children to church.  We want to partner with, and support families as they work to worship together.
