Hope House
The Hope House, run by the Salvation Army, is located at 410 S 9th Street in downtown Fernandina Beach. They provide a number of services to those who are in need in our area. One of those services is working with local churches to provide meals several times a week to anyone who walks in the door. Amelia Baptist Church, along with several other local churches, belongs to the Interfaith Dinner Network where the overall coordination of this meaningful endeavor takes place.
Each church is responsible for a different evening of the month. On our appointed evenings, we are responsible for planning, purchasing, cooking, serving, bussing and then cleaning up the place, leaving it spotless for the next day’s operations.
We are pleased to be able to serve our local community in this manner, demonstrating the love of Jesus to all who come in for a meal. We normally feed about 60-70 folks on our Thursday evenings. The local folks who need this service not only appreciate the food, but also the pleasant atmosphere and the servants attitude of the church members who care enough about them to serve in this way.
